As October is almost half way over, walking outside requires more than a sundress or short, but there’s not need to be bundled up in layers and a winter coat just yet. There is always some seasonal confusion in the time when it’s not summer anymore but not quite winter yet. But don’t fret; the fall is filled with gorgeous views, a calm feeling in the air, and all things pumpkin spice. Here are some places to go in the Big Apple to celebrate our great city before the real cold weather sets in.

1. Check out an art show or food festival!

NYC is known to have a restaurant on every corner, and a museum in every district of the city! The rich history and tradition of our city is one of the things people love about visiting and living here. One great festival to try is the New York City Wine & Food Festival, which runs from October 15-18) and features some of the city’s most famous and delicious places to eat! Sponsored by the Food Network and the Cooking Channel, this is sure to be the place to eat your way through NYC. Check out the website for more information:

2. Appreciate nature.

Before the leaves fall and the city is covered in a blanket of snow, journey to your local park or just walk down the street and take in the beauty that is this gorgeous season. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Located in Prospect Heights, this exceptional park is a treat to see and features exhibits by different artists so every time you go, there’s something new to see! Take in the last days of fall and surround yourself with beauty. See their website for hours and more details! https://www.bbg.org/

3. See the stars and planets on the High Line!

Everyone’s favorite monorail-turned-nature path is letting people reach new heights, literally and metaphorically. Up until October 27th, the High Line and the Amateur Astronomers Association is bringing high-powered telescopes so viewers can catch a glimpse at the stars that you don’t normally see in a city. The best part…it’s free!

4. Eat outside.

One of the most obvious and easy ways to celebrate the season is to eat outside! Sit on your balcony, sit outside at a restaurant, or even sit on a park bench during your lunch hour and breath in the crisp, fresh air that only fall brings. Especially during this time of year, chefs add new seasonal foods that will warm you up and take away those almost-winter blues.

5. Throw a rooftop party before it’s too cold!

One of the best ways to finish off the fall season is to have your friends and family together for a one last celebration of the good outdoors! Rooftop bars and lounges are great spaces to have a breathtaking view of our city as the season changes. Check out the endless possibilities that your event can have by flipping through the venues on our website and pick the place where you and your loved ones will have the best time!

As F. Scott Fitzgerald said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall”. Take this as something to reflect on as the seasons change and winter comes, and before the leaves fall, let the best of yourself reflect on those around you. Enjoy these tips and take advantage of everything NYC has to over! Check out our website for party planning tips to make fall the season of your best party yet!
